Paper Angel

The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to add a touch of whimsy and grace to your decorations than with a handmade paper angel? This delightful DIY project is not only simple but also a perfect activity for family and friends to enjoy together. So, let’s dive into the wonderful world of crafting and create a paper angel that will adorn your home with festive charm.

Materials You Will Need:

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Double sided tape
  • Small round tree ornament or wooden bead
  • Ribbon or thread (optional)
  • Marker pen (optional)

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

Before you begin, gather all your materials in one place. Choose any coloured high quality paper or manilla paper for a sturdy and elegant angel.

Step 2: Cutting the paper

Using a pair of scissors cut out the paper to your desired size. We used 5 x 7 inches. You can make it bigger if you want to decorate your wall or smaller if you want to decorate your tree. Each angel needs two 5 x 7 inches paper.

Step 3: Folding the paper

Carefully fold each paper sheet into an accordion fan. If the last fold doesn’t come out as perfect as the other, don’t worry. It will still be okay.

They should look like this.

For the wings, fold down a little less than a third of the accordion and give them a gentle squeeze like so.

Use the folded half as a guide to fold the other half.

Step 4: Assemble the Angel

Use the double-sided tape to connect the folded halves at the middle.

Next, put the double sided tape at the first armpit area then press it down.

Do the same for the other armpit.

Place the double sided tape on the top part to set the base for the ball ornament/wooden bead.

If using a ball ornament and you intend to hang the angel, connect it upside down such that the threaded area faces up then place it on the tape.

If using a wooden bead,  loop your string or ribbon and tie a knot at the end. Ensure that you cut the end so it will fit inside the hole on the bead. Add your folded ribbon to the neck area(the edge of the top tape) if you desire to do so. Additionally, you can draw your desired emoji face on the bead to add some vibe to it😃

Step 5: Display and Enjoy!
